To get your organization noticed, plan some sort of media release every 6-8 weeks.
A release will work better than a personal letter.
Print media responds best to a release
- Use current media release format.
- Not experienced? Read a book titled "Writing Effective News releases."
- Always try your release out on local media before the national level
- Be sensitive to media deadlines, always ask if it s a good time to call etc.
TV and radio like interview alerts instead of news releases.
- Design a news story with a how to spin.
Examples would be How to get rich on internet domains. Or "Can you really buy a hotel for a nothing down"
- Include info about "who" they can interview, and what they can film!
- Give them a story, don't just use them to sell something.

Send a well written press release to the news director –
If you can’t get name just video tape the show , then replay the credits.
Some libraries could have media such as The Broadcast Media Directory (remember all
directories have about a six month to one year lag time.
The front of your TV Guide will give you a list of television shows.
Study the media and go for the appropriate one.
For business aspect, try a success magazine
For product story WSJ or business sections
If a producer calls, expect questions.
The first call is really an "audition"!!!
Know your subject –
Sound like an exciting interview guest.
Volunteer some sample questions.
Exactly what makes you an expert on this topic?
What you can bring to their show (panel guests, etc ).

A press kit should include
overview (one or two pages) of your service and credentials.

Subjects of news can be new hire, promotion, quarterly sales figures, sales records broken, being named to an industry/association board, etc

Write on a topic in a trade publication and get it published (usually around 750-1500 words).
